Masters
I never ever thought I would get to this point in my life.
I completed my Master of Arts in Media and Communication at Bowling Green State University this week (no diploma in hand yet, but grades are posted).
Never having been a great student in high school, excelling only in core classes during undergrad and now to have mastered strategic communications with all As, I am astounded that this was even possible.
To me, it demonstrates the value of recognizing that there’s so much more beyond a typical high school education (I am not trying to diminish that here, just saying it's not a place where everyone can thrive).
My talents, as well as others that have had this experience, were outside of a typical high school curriculum. I never thought I would go anywhere based on my objective grades back then, but I never underestimated the potential of persevering to find where I fit in in this world.
I encourage you to do the same. You never know what door may be opened for you when you persevere and adopt a disposition of openness.
